SEO and SEP Specialist Karen D. Hill was a national marketing expert in "traditional" avenues from 1988 through 1996. She hasn't always been a search engine optimization specialist, with humble beginnings as an impromptu web developer. In 1996, she was charged with placing a complementary website to supplement The Handmade, Homemade Catalog's printed, nationally distributed catalog. The site was one of the first on-line ordering catalogs featuring THHC's niche market - handmade toys. The handmade toy site was such a success that upon Karen's direction, the printed catalog was discontinued saving over $100,000.00 per year in print, mailing and advertising costs while also increasing the net revenue of the catalog 200% over previous catalog mail-order sales within18 months of the site launch. Her on-line marketing strategies are purely Internet based with zero expenditures in advertising and the business model has been used by other companies to conduct successful Internet ventures that operate in the black just as THHTSC has done continuously for over 6 years.
