If your placement is not what it should be after 2 months or 2 years, you still have many options and do not have reason to despair. If you have not optimized your site for specific keywords that are relevant to your industry, you have a lot of room to grow. If your placements are in the top 30, then the gradual rise to the top may be just that....gradual. Depending upon the analysis of your competitors, you may be against sites that are heavily optimized (popular categories), or up against a crew that hasn't optimized at all and you have every opportunity to shoot to number one. Placement heavily depends upon what industry or service that you are in. Search Engine Placement - Buying Keywords I am not against paying for placement, however, being a SEO purist, I shun the practice. For those with deep pockets and devil-may-care attitudes, well, buy away. For the rest of us humans, we have to look at budgets, management, and Return On Investment. As you are well aware, there are options with most engines now to buy keywords. Cost may be based on a "per-click" basis or per month/quarter/annual basis. In any event, you will shell out a lot more dough obtaining placements this way than you would by hiring a competent SEO specialist or expert. Depending upon your industry or service, your costs could be astronomical. Looking at this type of investment, the bottom line in ROI. If you obtain placements through conventional search engine optimization tactics without paying for placement, you stand to have a substantially higher ROI. Now isn't that the bottom line?
